Beauty is in the eye of the beholder

"Beauty comes from within"

"Beauty begins in the heart and lives through the soul"

"What are flabby arms, spreading hips,
and saggy boobs
compared to the beauty of how one lives
each day through the eyes of their children."

"Beauty can be measured by the love in ones heart."

Speaking of beauty...
check this out!

Not only is this fabric beautiful!
It was a GIFT.

The sweetest kind, too...

just because.

Sheridan has become my blogging friend
and an inspiration to me.

If you've never read her blog

then you must!

She recently wrote a blog post about BEAUTY.
And wants to off load some sheets to boot!

Sheridan,
thank you for the fabric and your kindness.

In my eyes
you're a

PERFECT 10!

Would you like fries with that?

Seriously.
Check out the size of this burger!

It's huge!

123 lbs!

Well, I don't know if I'll ever want a burger this size
but I do enjoy a good sized burger now and then...

After reading all the comments
left about dressing your burgers on my giveaway post
I came up with an extensive list of toppings that I now MUST try!

some that surprised me
and some that just sound soooo good

Maybe you'd like to try some of these too...

mushrooms
avocado
sweet chili sauce
grilled pineapple
chutney
Heinz 57 sauce
wasabi mayo
chilli
tabbouleh
sprouts
"all-i-oli" (garlic sauce)
bell peppers
fried egg
quacamole
A1 Steak sauce

Some had very particular taste in onions:

carmelized onions
red onion
vidalia onion
french fried onions
onion straws

And some made their choice of cheeses clear:

cheddar
melted hot pepper cheese
swiss
cambazola
bleu cheese
pepperjack

What really shocked me:
BEETROOT?!!!

hmmmm....

this is apparently an Australian thing
I happen to LOVE Australian bloggers
so I'll let this one go :)

(they also call Ketchup, tomato sauce--weird, I know)

And this was a real shocker!

PEANUT BUTTER??!!
Really?

Skippy??

hmmmmm....

I don't know that I'm that brave....

This was the most creative sounding of them all however
The comment came from Digital Misfit at
and she said...

"One of the strangest burgers that I have ever had

was at this fascinating place called The Works.

There you can order 100% beef burgers with the strangest toppings

you would never imagine.

My partner and I decided to go and choose the scariest burger for each other.

For him, I chose a beef burger topped with

poached pear slices, honey, carmelized onions and blue cheese.

For me, he chose one that had

beet slices, pineapple, carmelized onions, and a fried egg!

It was surprisingly tasty!"

okay--I'll take your word for it...

But the one I'm really excited to try is

french fries directly on my burger!

I already like potato chips

so fries are like their cousins...

aren't they?

hmmmmm.....

after I catch up on all these new blogs

I'm seriously going to have me a very

CREATIVE

hamburger!

Bon Appetit!

OWIE!

ONE Little People Lil' Movers Airplane
Vroom!

PLUS +
ONE pair of excited
scurrying little Bubby toddler feet
whee!
EQUALS =
ONE really sore owie
and a Curious George bandaid
Wahhhhhh!
Poor Bubby :(

Congratulations!
And thanks to all that left comments
and made this so much fun.
Now that I know how much fun it is to give things away
well I'll do it more often!
Stay tuned!

So much to say...so little time

Wow! I have so much to say!
So many thoughts all fighting to get out first.

Well,
Where do I start?
I don't have much time.
It's 9:30am

Well THANK- you!!

and you too!

And then a wonderful thing happened...
you all know that I am soooo excited about Dana's quilt along.

Well Dana has this suction-y gadget-y thing-y for her straight edge

and I didn't know what it was.
So I asked.

But of course Dana is SOOO busy.
but I knew she'd get back to me sometime.

Well now she doesn't have to!

Because I made a new friend...
yes.
A new quilting friend
(I feel special)

KRISTEN
Hi Kristen--thank you!

She did all this research and finally discovered that the
suction-y cup, gadget-y, thing-y
is called a

GYPSY GRIPPER

you probably knew that,
Right?

Well now I know too.
I'm holding back with my Visa.
The Visa company really likes me!
And we all know how important it is to feel accepted,

but this time I think I'll ask for it for Christmas.

I mean if I BUY everything myself

then what are they going to get me?

hmmm..
I suppose there's always
fabric!

p.s. I know you're all dying to know the winner of Mr Hamburger

but you'll have to wait until after the dog gets dewormed
gross I know!

Today's Special: A Giveaway!

MMMMMM.....
Hungry?
Can't eat this guy...
but he's cute to look at.
Wouldn't you agree?

It's a Hamburger!

(with all the fixins'! Lettuce, tomato, cheese and onion)

(Notice his seed bead sesame seeds)
It's a pincushion!

It's a tape measure???
(it's in the hamburger patty)

It's all 3!!

That's right!

This guy will not only hold your pins,
measure your fabric,
and just look good sittin' pretty....

He will remind you to stop sewing and grab a bite to eat!

I have to admit that this project took on a mind of it's own.
But I love him!
Hope you do too!

He's made out of all thrifted/recycled items
(except the tape measure--I bought that new yesterday)

Including felted wool sweaters,
a hideous pair of pants,
and the stuffing from a terribly ugly pillow/sewing project gone wrong.

And all this could be yours
for the low price of....

well...
a comment.

Welcome to my little spot in blogland.
And thank you for coming.

I am excited to get Today's Special on it's way to you.

It doesn't matter where you are...
I'll get it to you!
(this means I will ship internationally)

I'll keep the comments open through
June 1st, 2009
@ 6:00 am
(Canada time--oh I don't know what time! Early!)

Just leave me a comment
and tell me how you would dress your burger...

Do you like ketchup?
Mayo?
Crushed potato chips?

What??!

Have a happy giveaway day!
